Documentation/Reference:
1) The government will be removing the ETVS, STARS, and FDIO equipment. ATC will coordinate with the FAA and NWS for them to come and remove their equipment. Base Communications Squadron will remove/re-install network ports (see attachment COMM Access Ports and Plumbing Spec). 2) Yes. We will be requesting glass, but if it’s not feasible Plexiglas will work. 3)Yes, on one of the cabinets there is a sink with a small water heater under the cabinet (See attachment: COMM Access Ports and Plumbing Specs). 4) Above the stairs is located a storage cabinet (approx. 3’x3’x2’). There are additional storage cabinets/counters adjacent the stairs. There is also a long power strip that runs along the top of those counters as well. There are remote monitoring panels that will need to be re-installed to the new consoles, which will be coordinated with RAWS and the FAA (see attachment: COMM Access Ports and Plumbing Specs). 5) The console change will be an out of service process. This shutdown will need to be coordinated pending shipping dates and current flying operations. 6) The tower is not equipped with an elevator. There are five floors prior to reaching the steps to access the tower cab. 7) I spoke with Building Manager for building 320 and there is a large heated bay that the contractor will be able to use to store the replacement consoles. 8) The base will be responsible for clearing the cab for installation but the contractor will still be responsible for any potential damages due to negligence.
