Question Submitted:
Alfalfa Hay and Bermuda Grass have certain guidelines and or parameters. The fist thing would be what cutting are you looking for? The second concern would be is what nutritional value of the hay?
Response Received:
We require the first cut of the hay, and nutritional value varies so as long as it is good quality is fine.
Question Submitted:
Could you please explain how the hay bales are physically going to be off loaded and put into the storage facility?
Response Received:
Please read the SOW as it states: The vendor or his designee will be responsible for the delivery and offloading of all Alfalfa Hay or Bermuda Grass bales.
Question Submitted:
In previous years, the officers at the facilities requested bermuda and were upset when we delivered alfalfa like the agreement says so. Our company can deliver bermuda and alfalfa but at different prices.
Response Received:
This is more of a comment rather than a question.
Question Submitted:
For the delivery we would like to know what type of truck would fit on those locations and how the hay would be offloaded. All these factors determine the price.
Response Received:
Semi's are allowed and there will be a squeeze available.
Question Submitted:
What size balees? How often do you need delivery? It just says Truckload of approximately 480-512 bales do I have one year to delivery, 1 month? until the 5200 bales runs out? How long will this agreement last? Will there be a squeeze on site to unload the hay? Has deming facility roof been changed?
Response Received:
This is will be a one year contract. Yes there will be a squeeze. I don't know if the roof has been changed.
Question Submitted:
Would the contracting officer consider experience over price for this agreement. As we would like to price a premium as an insurance for all the problems that may arise? We can offer a cheap service but we have experience delivering to the CBP stations and would like to accommodate all their needs.
Response Received:
The requirement is set as Lowest Price Technically Acceptable.
