The Glock 17 which is a striker fired is preferred however above it states hammer fired is also preferred. Is a hammer fired handgun preferred if the Glock 17 is not available for quotation?

Does the Government require an external safety? Does the Government require that the weapon be hammer fired, or would striker fired options be considered?
