TSA has extended the delivery date for this procurement to NLT 270 days ARO. The Statement of Work will be amended accordingly.

TSA will not accept fiberglass exteriors or interiors. Due to the following: 1. Durability: Fiberglass is much easier than steel to modify but can splinter and produce a very fine, potentially harmful dust; 2. Repairs: Finding companies to complete repairs to material; 3. Health hazard to canines – canines in training are always tearing and clawing outside, around and in the trailers. Fiberglass material is too high a risk for canine training because of inhalation ( material in dust form irritates the skin, eyes, nose, and throat and also causes itching, coughing, or wheezing. or ingestion ( causing perforated intestines from material) resulting in a health hazards to our expensive and highly trained canines; and 4. Delamination: Fiberglass poses problems with delamination which are cracks which causes moisture to enter the trailer and cause other trailer issues to wiring, canines, generator, AC units, and equipment and supplies in storage areas. No, TSA will not be providing a print of this project. Section III, Technical Requirements, of the SOW details the minimum salient characteristics required to build the trailers desired.
