Question Submitted:
Clarify how the 94x UPS are to be used. Advise on the 1x location with over 25kW of equipment.
Response Received:
Our buildings utilize separate communications rooms based on the classification of the network they are supporting, and some buildings have multiple communications rooms for the same network. Each of these rooms require UPS support.
Currently verifying, but it is believed the 1x location with over 25kW of equipment has at least two circuits running to it, having one set of equipment (switches, UPS and converter) on one circut and a set on a second circuit.
|
Question Submitted:
Exact model numbers and quantities of the equipment that will be on the UPS?
Response Received:
There are forty-two buildings that each have four 9300 series 48 port POE switches (C9300-48U) along with an encryption device which uses a 65W power supply. There is one building that has two 9400 series chassis switch with POE enabled, each requiring a minimum of four of their 3200W power modules to be plugged in. This building also runs an encrption device using a 65W power supply. This building has 208V power in the communications room and requires the UPS (or combination of UPS and down converter) to produce 120V power for the switches.
|
Question Submitted:
Does the Wattage have to meet the requested Wattage on the request?
Response Received:
Wattage can vary from what is requested as long as it meets the general requirement.
Deadline has been extended until 9/15. Deadline can continue to be extended if requested.
|
Question Submitted:
Can we confirm that the 208VAC UPS has to have a 3000VA capacity or should it also be 6000VA to match the XFRMR?
Response Received:
Please revise offers to make sure equipment is compatible and safe. The transformer can be selected to match the UPS or vice versa.

UPS Questions__
• Tower or Rackmount?
• Exact model numbers and quantities of the equipment that will be on the
UPS?
• THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT! We use this to determine the size of the UPS, and
determine runtime. We use the model numbers to look up the wattages on each
device.
• What runtime is needed?
• Will the UPS be used with a generator?
• Does the UPS need Network Management?
• With or without Environmental Monitoring?
Are they putting this into a 2-Post or 4-Post rack?
• A railkit is required for 2-Post racks.
• Do they want extended warranties on the UPS?
Response Received:
Here's some additional information in an attempt to answer the questions asked:
UPS should be rackmount style.
Equipment on the UPS are variable per building. Currently in system are 3x 208V UPS SRT5KRMXLT with 3x AP9629 down converters for our facilities that utilize 208V power and all other facilities use the 120V UPS SUA2200RM2U. All must be replaced.
Should have a minimum of 10 minutes of runtime at full load in case of an outage. External batteries can be utilized to reach this time.
All UPS will usually be on standard shore power. Select facilities do have generator backups in case of power failure.
No network management required.
No environmental montioring required.
Recommend only UPS usable in 2-post racks.
No additional warranties are required.
If this information is not enough, please submit another question. We're currently performing equipment surveys of the facilities to get further defined lists of equipment that must be supported by these UPS but wanted to get the initial group of questions answered quickly.
