Question Submitted:
clarification on what the list of trained behaviors and/or certificates would be needed to classify as ready to deploy with a handler to the field. Is there a outline for how this testing will be conducted or would the specific akc, therapy group, etc certifications suffice? To clarify for the still needing training dogs. These dogs would be dogs who have a cgc but have not gained a higher level of training correct?
Response Received:
Please refer to the Section 4.2 of the SOW for Behavioral Support Canine requirements. Also listed at Section 4.2 are the tests that provide insight into a canines suitability as a support canine. The minimum certification required is the AKC CGC certificate.

Question Submitted:
1. The SOW states all paperwork must state documented age of Canine but doesn't state what the age range requirements are.
2. Do they need to have the CGC already on file at time of submission or is it acceptable to receive the cgc before presentation?
3. The SOW states they must be spayed/neutered. I'm assuming this must happen before presentation?
4. K9s that have been deemed unacceptable for detection can be eligible for presentation?
Response Received:
1. K9s that are arriving fully trained and ready to be fielded with a handler should be no older than 4 years of age. K9s requiring training should be no older than 2 years of age.
2. Seller must provide the training date and/or anticipated date of certification.
3. All K9s must be presented spayed or neutered, and healed with no physical restrictions, at time of delivery.
4. K9s tested using a toy hunt process and deemed not suitable for detection work can be considered as long as there is no reinforcement history on a target odor.
