Question Submitted:
1. Is this a once per year monitoring event or a quarterly monitoring event? 2. Can the project be completed over 2 consecutive days or is it required to be completed over 1 day?
Response Received:
1. annually 2. It is not required to be completed in one day, but no more than three.
Question Submitted:
Are noise dosimeters, air sampling pumps and calibrators provided or are we expected to bring all necessary equipment for sampling along with us?
Response Received:
That is required for IH Survey, not required for this Avionics SE Depot to maintain facility. Site NOLA does monitor temperature, humidity, and ambient pressure in OBOGS clean room with stationary devices.

I have a question regarding Part B, Task 3. My questions are in red below. I’m trying to understand the ventilation (supply) of the clean room. TASK 3 VENTILATION and AIR PRESSURE INSPECTION - Conduct a ventilation inspection to measure positive airflow rate, volume, and capture efficiency to determine if compliance is met with regulatory requirements. 1) Ventilation – Air Flow a. Measure Supply Air Flow using room size, the number of air changes per hour (ACH). Is a velocity meter acceptable for measuring the air flow? Or is a Balometer required? In other words, what type of supply ducts are we measuring and how many supply ducts are we measuring? How has this been measured in the past? i. The value required to meet ISO Class 8 requirements is 5-48 ACH 2) Air Pressure Differential a. Measure the pressure differential between the Clean Room (113) and the Support Room immediately outside the clean room (112). Does the clean room have a monometer already hooked up? Or do we need to provide a monometer? How has this been measured in the past? i. The Clean Room should have a positive pressure differential between rooms of not less than + 0.05 inches of water above ambient pressure. ii. A differential pressure of not less than 0.01 inches of water should exist between any enclosure within the clean room and any adjacent area of lesser clean requirements

Below are some excerpts from one of the IH surveys conducted on our clean area. They will need to bring everything with them for measuring. The Clean Room is a single room, approximately 910 cubic feet in size. A work bench is positioned at one end of the room. There is a single supply vent and no return air vent. The ventilation has redundant HEPA filtration with HEPA and UV filtration in the main supply line and a second HEPA filter in the supply vent to the Clean Room. The components of ISO 14644-2 were performed: Particle Count Test Air Pressure Difference Airflow Particle Count Test Particle counting was performed using a TSI P-Trak Particle Counter. Particle counting was performed in representative areas within the Clean Room. All measurements were less than the ISO Class 8 requirements for 0.5 micron, 1 micron and 5 micron particle size. The ventilation system was in normal operation during the testing. Air Pressure Difference An Extech Differential Pressure Manometer, HD755 was used to measure the pressure differential between the Clean Room and the support room immediately outside the clean room. The measurements indicated a pressure differential between these rooms as +0.05 inches of water. Airflow The supply airflow was measured using a TSI Accubalance Plus 8373. Supply air was measured during normal operations at 109 cubic feet per minute. Using the room size, the number of air changes per hour (ACH) was calculated at: 109 cfm x 60/910 ft3=7 ACH This value is within the ISO Class 8 requirements (5-48 ACH). Temperature/Relative Humidity Temperature and Relative Humidity were measured during normal ventilation system operation using a SPER Scientific Instrument. The temperature measured during the survey was 70.1o F and Relative Humidity was 41%. Both were within the ISO644 parameters.
