• Adsorber frame shall have six (6), 2" deep beds arranged in a V-bank configuration.
• The filter frame shall be size: 24” x 24" x 16'" and have a Neoprene gasket seal on one side.
• Adsorber screens shall be perforated with spacers to prevent distortion.
• The adsorber shall be filled with 8 x 16 mesh, granular activated carbon which shall have a minimum carbon tetrachloride activity of 60% when tested in accordance with ASTM 03467.
• The carbon shall meet the physical requirements of U.S. NRC Reg. guide 1.52 and Article FF-5000 of ASME/ANSI AG-1-1991, "Code on Nuclear Air and Gas Treatment" (replaces Table 5-1 of ASME/ANSI N509- 1980 for performance requirements and physical properties of unused activated carbon).
• At a rated flow of 1000 CFM, each adsorber shall provide a 0.125 second residence time with an approximate pressure drop of 1.45” water gage.
• Maximum continuous operating temperature of 120°F.
• Adsorber shall exhibit a minimum mechanical efficiency of 99.99% when tested in accordance with IES designation RP-8, "Gas-Phase Adsorber Cell.”
• Adsorber filters shall be double bagged with ties or taping and shipped in cardboard boxes.
• Filters shall be labeled with model number, mechanical efficiency and pressure drop values, empty and filled frame rates, carbon Lot number, Manufacture date and Serial # on filter.
• Factory test reports to be provided on each filter per requirements stated above.
Filters are used in Operations at the Chemical Materials Activity Site locations. We require them in both or Stockpile mission and our Non-Stockpile mission. They are used in Mobile Filtration Units, Laboratory filtrations and clinic/medical filtration for clean rooms. Current Chemicals/gases would be GB, VX and HD, HT and H mustard.
