My name is Keith Carroll and I am the ETS Specialist with National Industries for the Blind (NIB), CNA of the AbilityOne Program as outlined in the JWOD Act 41 USC 48.79 As you know the JWOD Act generates employment and training opportunities for people who are blind or have other significant disabilities through the Federal acquisition of products found on the government wide Procurement List. A full list of products on the mandatory Procurement List is available through Abilityone.gov: http://pl.abilityone.gov/procurement_search/procurement_product_search.aspx As part of our continued efforts to assist government contractors with compliance within the program, we review buys made through different portals such as GSA eBuy, SAM.gov, and UNISON. Your solicitation posted for3 compatment trays was brought to my attention because it contains part descriptions that have been identified as a match to AbilityOne mandatory source NSNs. Line Item AbilityOne NSN 0004 7350-01-664-6909 I would like to assist so your buy remains compliant with Federal procurement mandates. I would advise that at that time per CFR 51, FAR 8.7, CFR 52.208-9 and JWOD Act 41 USC 48, you update your solicitation to list the AbilityOne NSNs and descriptions and limit bidders to only Authorized AbilityOne Distributors (only Authorized AbilityOne Distributors can sell AbilityOne products). The AbilityOne Program exists to generate employment for American who are blind or significantly disabled including Wounded Warriors. If you do choose to require the use of AbilityOne product for this contract you will have a significant impact on the AbilityOne Mission.
