Question Submitted:
1) Is the material CAST? It is not clear as it is described Zinc as well 2) Can you describe how the gold and black colors supposed to be in the lettering? 3) Do you have any design for the US Air Force, and US Army pins? It seems that with the measurements requirements, it is not possible to fit all the wording 4) Are you looking for 1 or 2 clutches on each pin/
Response Received:
The Insignia U.S. Army is a Gold pin and it is DASH NO.-1 Regular, Army in the detail specification sheet. I will be re-posting this solicitation, W911SD-20-Q-0004 with updated photos. Please review the specification sheet and the evaluation criteria. Please see the answers to your questions below: 1) Is the material CAST? It is not clear as it is described Zinc as well Not sure what you are asking as Casting is a manufacturing process in which a liquid material is usually poured into a mold, which contains a hollow cavity of the desired shape, and then allowed to solidify. The solidified part is also known as a casting, which is ejected or broken out of the mold to complete the process. Casting materials are usually metals or various time setting materials that cure after mixing two or more components together; examples are epoxy, concrete, plaster and clay. Casting is most often used for making complex shapes that would be otherwise difficult or uneconomical to make by other methods. Heavy equipment like machine tool beds, ships' propellers, etc. can be cast easily in the required size, rather than fabricating by joining several small pieces 2) Can you describe how the gold and black colors supposed to be in the lettering? I do apologe for not explaining the proper DASH NO... we are using DASH NO: -1 Regular, Army in the Detail Specification Sheet and those specifications are listed in the proper dashes. 3) Do you have any design for the US Air Force, and US Army pins? It seems that with the measurements requirements, it is not possible to fit all the wording Again, apologies, going back to question 2). We are only looking for DASH NO: -1 Regular Army 4) Are you looking for 1 or 2 clutches on each pin The Detail Specification Sheet states this answer in the ATTACHING DEVICE: "2. Prongs shall be located on the vertical center line, equidistant from each end and 5/8 inch +/- 1/64 inch apart."
Question Submitted:
Would also like to know if the area between the U and S is open, or if there is metal between? This is required for the tac post placement.

The item is connected by the period only that is in between the U and the S. Please refer to ATTACHING DEVICE in the MIL DTL 15665/65B provided.
Question Submitted:
We would like clarification on the packaging for the bulk order - will the pins be on a card in a plastic bag like the sample, or in presentation boxes?
Response Received:
Pins shall be on a card in a plastic bag.
Question Submitted:
